We are Hiring a Farm Hand for 2025

Forrest Green Farm is looking for a seasonal full-time farm hand to join our team! This position requires a commitment of five days a week. Timing is to start as soon as possible and end  after Thanksgiving with the potential for year round work. We are seeking a hardworking individual who enjoys working outdoors and is flexible enough to tackle various tasks related to our diverse farm business. FGF is a regenerative agriculture farm, home to laying hens, broiler chickens, Hereford cattle, Great Pyrenees livestock guardian dogs, five production greenhouses, seasonal retail plant starts, vegetable and herb production, a market on the farm, and a mail order business.

 

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation 
• Must be 21 years or older 
• A passion to learn and carry out regenerative agriculture practices 
• Positive Attitude: A willingness to work hard and maintain a positive attitude, especially during long or repetitive tasks in challenging weather
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions  
• Capable of lifting over 50 pounds 
• Physical Stamina: This is a physically demanding job that requires standing, bending, lifting, and walking in outdoor conditions
• Familiarity with operating farm equipment  
• Basic computer skills 
• Good listening skills and ability to follow directions 
• Ability to work both as part of a team and independently 
• Some previous experience in farm work, manual outside labor, or landscaping
• References required
• Background check

 

Tasks:  

• Daily animal chores tending to chickens, cattle, and livestock guardian dogs
• Processing and packaging chicken
• Shipping online orders  
• Making our unique potting soil formula for plant production
• Gardening and landscaping  
• Various other farm-related tasks  

 

Salary: 

Full-time, 5 days a week $17- $20 based on experience
