Hiring: Farm Market Retail Sales & Plant Nursery Manager

Forrest Green Farm is seeking an outgoing, friendly on-farm market sales associate who is eager to learn, grow with our business, and provide exceptional customer service. This position is 9 am-5:30 pm from Thursday to Monday year-round. We are seeking one full-time individual. Your responsibilities will include handling sales, addressing customer inquiries, maintaining store displays and inventory, and ensuring the overall upkeep of the store and plant retail area. Our top priority is providing our customers with an outstanding shopping experience.

Requirements:

• You must be 21 or older
• Have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
• Retail experience
• Some plant and/or garden knowledge
• Able to work in all weather conditions, including heat and rain
• Can lift soil bags, potted plants, plant flats, hoses, etc.
• Ability to work weekends
• High school diploma or equivalent
• References required

Duties:

• Welcoming Customers to our farm
• Providing exceptional customer service by interacting kindly and compassionately in all interactions and anticipating customer needs
• Help customers with their shopping inside and in the retail plant area
• Accurately perform cashier duties – handling cash, checks, and credit card transactions with precision while following company policies and procedures
• Maintaining the sales floor by restocking shelves, organizing, and cleaning to ensure a clean and pleasing appearance to customers
• Updating pricing information and completing inventory management tasks as directed
• Using a Square cash register system for checking out customers
• Watering and plant maintenance (deadheading) during the growing season
• Keeping the outdoor retail space organized and neat

There will be a 2-week trial to assess the fit for both parties.
